Meet Zoe Logan, the recipient of January\u2019s Lundie Memorial Award.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Nominated by Rebecca Smith, junior church leader at St Andrew\u2019s with Castle Gate URC in East Midlands Synod, Zoe is called a \u201cray of sunshine\u201d in her church community.<\/p>\n

Rebecca said: \u201cZoe has buoyed up the church with her jokes and ongoing service. We\u2019re very grateful for her\u201d<\/p>\n

Since the Covid lockdown, Zoe has been a dedicated contributor to her church newsletter, which keeps everyone updated on events, recipes, and news. But what makes it extra special? Zoe\u2019s joke section!<\/p>\n

What started as a way to lift spirits during lockdown has now become a tradition, with Zoe sharing weekly jokes tailored to the season\u2014whether it\u2019s Christmas, Valentine\u2019s Day, or even National Doughnut Week! Her humour has brought endless smiles to her church family.<\/p>\n

For Zoe, the best part of her involvement is seeing the joy it brings to others:<\/p>\n

\u201cI love when church members come up to me with jokes they\u2019ve memorised or just tell me how much they appreciate the laughs.\u201d<\/p>\n

Her advice to other young people?<\/p>\n

\u201cGo and get involved! I\u2019ve made so many friends and had loads of conversations with people I would have never expected. It\u2019s really helped build my confidence and people skills\u2014it\u2019s a great conversation starter!\u201d<\/p>\n

When asked how she felt about becoming a Lundie Memorial Winner, Zoe said: \u201cI feel so lucky to have such kind people around me to even consider nominating me. I am going to continue submitting my jokes to the newsletter to spread a little bit of joy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Winning the Lundie Award comes with a \u00a3100 prize, and in true Zoe style, she\u2019s planning to use it for something fun for the whole church\u2014maybe a Christian comedian or even a clown!<\/p>\n
